Maekok River Village Resort

* Unique place, in quiet backwaters of the north on the flowing Mae Kok river bordering Myanmar. Lovely and well kept gardens and good menu in restaurant with great views. Staff is very informative and helps out with tours and transports at reasonable prices. Recommend to take their tours/treks. Nice dip in the pool with a beer afterwards. * Owners are a very nice British couple from HK. They have made a lot of effort to create spinn off effects in the area by helping out small minorities by investing in schools etc. They also cater to children on school trips from Bangkok who come here to learn and exercise. * Our son (6) was taken by one of the guides at the hotel for some wall climbing, archery and obstacle course. He loved. it. You can easily enjoy yourselves in the area here 2-3 days without getting bored.

Beautiful place. The whole place was so well designed and beautifully maintained. The plants and flowers were a delight. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely terrace looking onto the small lake. The pool area was small but perfectly adequate and we sat there for 2 afternoons in perfect peace. The view from the restaurant was superb, especially in the morning with the mist rising over the mountains. We really enjoyed the food, eating at the restaurant for 3 nights and trying a variety of well cooked, very tasty Thai dishes. The staff were all very helpful and smiley all the time! They seemed to genuinely want to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed being here and left feeling very relaxed. Thank you to everyone at Maekok River Village!

exceptional hotel offering everything you’d expect from a luxury hotel at a fraction of the price. staff were friendly and helpful, food and drinks menu available all day. bikes were free of charge, beautiful grounds and lovely pool. the couple who own the resort are warm and friendly and couldn’t do more to make your stay memorable. the Burmese curry on the menu remains in first place! lots of attention to detail in the rooms, everything you could wish for is provided. definitely take a trip to Wat Tha Ton, the views from the top are incredible! then maybe order a cocktail or two to your room 🍸

A very friendly welcome by the owner, Mrs. Rosy herself, The whole team is very friendly and welcoming, the Resort is very well managed. Lunch and Dinner were excellent with beautiful views from the terrace. Absolutely beautiful and spacious garden area. The rooms are tastefully designed and offer more than enough space. On top a balcony with very comfortable chairs. We regret that we only could spend one night here!!
